Gentrification completely changed northern Brooklyn [Williamsburg, Greenpoint] and now scary places like Flatbush and East NY are becoming nicer too.

Gorl, I use to live in East New York. It was the pits when I left. I know they step up a GameStop and other stores on Pitkin ave to make it look upstanding, but when I visit there it is still the same. Ratchet, ratchet, ratchet. Crown Heights is more or less getting worse. Bushwick/Williamburgs is this faux hipster haven. Coney Island is the pits. Canarsie is a mess. Downtown Brooklyn is okay. Flatbush will always be a mess, and that just the way it is.
I live in Queens and I know their is crime, but it just feels safer to me then when I lived in BK. I can walk to my door at 1am and not feel like I'm about to get rushed and robbed.
When I lived in BK, I got robbed for some Yu-Gi-Oh cards.
