My ex-man brought his new girlfriend
She's like "Oh, my god, I'm just gonna shake."
And to the fella over there with the hella good hair
Won't you come on over, baby?
We can shake, shake, shake
Is it possible maybe they still did submit it and it just isn't in that thread? I dunno how they get the info though. Whether it is what each artist submit, or whether they get everything submitted for each category and no one has gotten the country ones yet? Does anyone know how it works?
Can Anyone (Even Taylor Swift) Hit the First-Week Million-Selling Mark Anymore?
Quote:
Will the U.S. music industry ever see another first-week million-selling album? That was an open question even as the CD suffered double-digit sales declines for the last seven years. But with digital sales down 11.5 percent in the first nine months of 2014, industry executives are almost universally doubtful that any album can hit the mark, even though both Taylor Swift -- whose Speak Now and Red scanned 1.1 million and 1.2 million units, respectively, in their debut weeks in 2010 and 2012 -- and Lil Wayne -- 1 million and 964,000 for Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV in 2008 and 2011 -- have albums due by the end of 2014.
Swift has a chance, but prognosticators are doubtful: Her 1989 LP, due Oct. 27, initially projected to sell 1.1 million, was revised down to 750,000 after other titles in the quarter fell short (Wayne’s Carter V is expected to sell around 500,000).
“If anyone can still do it, Taylor can,” says a senior Nashville executive. “But it will be very difficult, even for her.”

I am actually more confident about 1989 selling 1 million in first week than I was 3 months ago.
SIO is a real smash. Only AATB keeping it from being at no 1 for the last 8 consecutive weeks. People seem to love making cover versions/dance along videos to it. OOTW slayed on iTunes this week and is getting loads of acclaim. The numbers it is pulling in suggests massive numbers of pre-orders on iTunes alone. Vance Joy cover getting lots of Press attention, views and acclaim. Secret Sessions have been getting lots of media attention. The 1989 Subway giveaway. The 1989 Swiftstakes or whatever they are called. The Diet Coke ad asking folks to buy the album in week 1. And Taylor has all this promo still to come in the US.
I think the 1989 Era so far has really shown that there is a great appetite in the market for Taylor's pop album. So many posters here on atrl who say that they are interested in this album due to SIO and/or OOTW. She is definitely attracting new fans.
Selling 1 million is a big ask but I think she can do it or come really close.
