That isn't how mental illness works. Put it this way, if she were having seizures you wouldn't say all she would need is "ONE friend" to help her get better. Mental illness is just as real as seizures.
Something like Schizophrenia has both psychological and biological properties, a friend isn't going to make her "better". She needs real treatment, probably medication and therapy. A person who is suffering from Schizophrenia will have delusions and will feel detached from reality, that can be really dangerous for themselves and others.
