She's from Germany and blackface was an American thing, correct? She was probably unaware of its past. Blackface is unacceptable and I'm not excusing it but I don't think she meant anything offensive.
I don't personally agree with Blackface but at the same time, I don't think she did it with the intention of mocking Danai Gurira's looks or Michonne's, I think it was done as a tribute to the character and her work so I don't think it's as bad, still, unnecessary.
AA's doing too much again.
It's not like she did anything out of mockery (maybe that nose!) but still
If white people should dress up as white people and black people should dress up like black people then if it's superhero theme who will black people dress up like that's not a side-kick?

What kind of ******** how is this even racist fff
Reminds me of this video I saw today...
Some people here are fuming over Black Pete (Sinterklaas is a holiday here where everyone paints on blackface).
This anti-black face gorl got hit by a dude and everybody applauded the guy fff

This post talks in circles and makes absolutely no sense. You don't have to use blackface(becaue let's be real that's what she did) to let it be known you are dressing up as a black character or celeb. Example:
and about a bunch of white people and some blacks fixing their mouths to say ppl are overreacting. Let jesus be a history lesson

It's not cute to be laughing and be ignorant to one situation, the internet is too vats and filled with knowledge. And not you using that festival which even makes your argument even more racist and idiotic.

lmao so a black woman protesting black face and then getting hit by a white man who is for black face is funny and gets applauded.
Whether her intentions were innocent or not, blackface is troublesome—and always will be—because of its origins. Why try to reclaim something so racist and horrible? Let's white people just stop dressing up as black instead.
!!
I mean, it wasn't done in a malicious way but she can always cosplay without resorting to paint your skin in a darker shade, at the end of the day she can take off the makeup but black people can't take away the color of their skin and the stigmas that comes with it.

Aren't you the person that always enters a thread related to racism and dismiss by saying how people are overreacting even though you, as a white person, shouldn't tell people of color how to feel over the racism that white people put them through?
Who are people to say this isn't offensive if you aren't black? I personally don't find it offensive, but some people do and you cannot say they're overreacting if you're not in their shoes

TBH... I didn't find anything wrong with this. There's a difference between using blackface to portray black people (stereotypically) and dressing up as a character who is black.
I think it was respectfully done and thought out. The nose is a damn mess though
