The title is kind of misleading. "I want to be the female Bruno Mars" is cute and aspirational. It shows who she aspires to be artistically. "I am the female Bruno Mars" sounds arrogant. It's too early for her to call herself that, which she didn't. That's not what she said.

Also, she was literally the top female artist from her country last week.

Yes with that one novelty hit. If you want to be a serious artist with longevity releasing a novelty song is like an albatross around your neck. First impressons stick.

As a huge Bruno fan, I'll have to listen to some more of this girl's music as AATB doesn't cut it for me. Bruno being an artist's inspiration, though.

Um, this **** doesn't happen overnight, and plenty of apparent one-hit wonders have grown into massively successful artists (see Katy Perry and her nine number one smash hits for details).

The other day, I read about a country act who inspired by Bruno too. He admires how Bruno's music blending genres and yet his album still cohesive. Bruno his artistry influences not just pop artist but crossover to other genres.
