The number of cases in the Ebola outbreak has risen to nearly 9,000, with the number of dead climbing to nearly 4,500, as the World Health Organization (WHO) warned Tuesday that there could be up to 10,000 new cases a week in two months.
For the last four weeks, there's been about 1,000 new cases per week - including suspected, confirmed and probable cases, WHO assistant director-general Dr. Bruce Aylward said, adding that the U.N. health agency is aiming to get 70 percent of cases isolated within two months to reverse the outbreak.
WHO increased its Ebola death toll tally to 4,447 people on Tuesday, nearly all of them in West Africa, from 8,914 cases. The death rate has risen to 70 percent— previously the WHO estimated the death rate at around 50 percent.
They are giving too much news on this, every day. It is overstated.
As they said 1000 cases per week, but suspected, confirmed and probable. The number could vary.
The other week media in my country created havoc saying a British man died from Ebola and that info was based on nothing. So think about how many people are dying there now without even being investigated properly. They might be dying from malaria, flu or other diseases but the main culprit is 'Ebola'.
Media is over blowing this as always. 5000 deaths in a year, in a population of 20 million. They want us to be scared and it wouldn't surprise me if they are popping 'new' cases in US and Europe just to succeed in their intentions.

When the flu kills 70% of the time, the media will cover it I can assure you.
This is the definition of fear mongering, as it's talking mainly about Africa. And there's not even been 5 people dead in any country that's affected (minus Africa of course), so 70% of a small number is nothing to be afraid of. Saying 70% makes you think the number is massive.
People need to turn off the news. It corrodes braincells
