I realize that you are not yet able to get ‘Out Of The Woods’ due to a new strategy my record label is working on in the UK. I’ve never been one to hold my music back from any of you so I will be watching closely to see if this is ultimately a better experience for you, the fans.
My good friend Ed Sheeran utilized the same strategy with ‘One’ in the UK and he seemed very happy with the feedback from his fans.
In the UK, only one track (pre album release) can chart at a time on the official charts. That's why Ariana's "Break Free" was screwed over". I really think they should hold it back...I mean, it sucks for the UK fans but it's only two weeks until the album comes out. The general hype of the track is helping SIO and the album anyways.
By this strategy she will never be able to release OOTW there
After the album has been released, any track can chart. It's a relatively new rule (only a year or two old, definitely after Red was released) that only one track from an album can chart before it has been released if it's part of a pre-release campaign. That's why people that release multiple singles before their album release in the UK release them as stand alone singles.
