Simon Cowell has dismissed The Great British Bake Off as a challenger to The X Factor.
Speaking to Piers Morgan at the Mipcom TV programming conference in Cannes today (October 13), Cowell suggested that the BBC One show is far less exciting than his own ITV singing competition.
"My belief is it's more exciting to see someone like Leona Lewis win and sing a fantastic song, than looking at a chocolate eclair at the end of the show," The Guardian quotes him as saying.
Maybe he hates it because this season the ratings went over 12 millions (just overnight, making it the most watched show of the year just behind a Football World Cup match) and X Factor is sinking year after year?
