I can't imagine a company would want to spend so much on her because of one successful album. It's like they're assuming she'll sell another 30,000,000.

Why would they not go after her? You really think she's not going to have another massive album? Her selling points are the quality of her music and her voice, both of which she's apparently stepped up. She's said herself there wouldn't be another album until it was better than 21. And she's pretty good at sticking to her word with that kind of stuff.

edit: Plus she's the kind of artist that's always going to have a fan base that will purchase her music and she's going to be a catalog seller forever.

Adele will never be changed by money. She's proven that she doesnt chase money. Can you imagine how many commercial deals she's turned down over the past 3 years from around the world? She could probably have made another $50 million if she'd milked every offer.

This is actually starting to look true now.

The part abut them clashing is likely in regards to how it's going to be released.

XL is a very small label so they likely don't know how to handle an artist as popular as Adele. We were even told that there were issues with the release of 21 and Adele had to turn to Columbia to map out a better release schedule (which is why it came out later than it was supposed to).

“All of the signs are there that Adele will go to Sony and it would be a massive coup.”

Adele, 26, is already signed to Sony [through Columbia Records] in the US although XL look after her releases elsewhere.

A Sony spokesman declined to comment on the mighty big bid to bag Adele.

Interesting the article says "see Adele tour properly". I'm suspicious. They know why she has not completed a concert tour. A proper tour is where the hundreds of millions of dollars are made. That little signing money is nothing compared to concert earnings. But this the small problem -Adele has never completed a concert tour. In support of her "19" album the concert tour was cut short due to personal, family problems. The concert tour for"21" was stopped due to throat problems.

As far as giving her a record label anyone with money can start a record label but you need talent to help support it. Amy Winehouse started her record label without help. Adele can't be the only person on the label. That sounded a little strange to me. The whole article does not feel real to me.
