why is it that ppl of strong ethnic backgrounds/ colored skin are typically cartoonazized or caricatured in the media.

ppl use stereotypes intensely when it comes to ethnic ppl.

I dont even want to name some of the stereotypes the media uses against ppl of color.

but why do you think even in our day and age this still happens?

Because white people own most mainstream media outlets. That's why. No need for a thread tbh, we all know this.

A discussion about this is needed since it still happens. I have no clue why so many members remain pressed or irritated when topics like these arise. NO not everyone knows ad NO it's not wrong to talk about it. In fact a dialogue is needed for every part of societies reality in our day and age. And if this bothers you or others them click on another thread.

Because it's entertaining for most people when they are. Otherwise they have no use in the media.

A sassy, fat black woman who's always shaking her head will capture more attention than a "normal" black woman. Likewise, a nerdy Indian man with a strong accent is funny, but a neutral portrayal will be ignored.
