Its because they chose as ugly jace. Jace was suppose to be sexy as **** along with Isabella and alex and the only good loooking thing in the film was Simon.

Yep to all this! The books are actually really, really good, some of the best "teen girl" books out there. I was actually really excited for the movie until I saw the trailer/cast.

You CANNOT have an ugly male lead for a project like this (AKA one that relies on viewership from the female 13-25 demographic) and their Jace was downright hideous.

Meanwhile Isabelle was not nearly pretty or badass enough, and Alec is an old ass mother****er. The only good casting, ironically, was Lily (who has proven to be box-office poison).

Anyway. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. I don't think they can save it even with a completely new cast

For some reason I've read 6 of her books and they're all bad.

Oh I'm only referring to the first three (Bones, Glass, Ashes). The other series (Clockwork Princess or whatever) is a disaster, and the tack-on books (Heavenly Fire and whatnot) are even WORSE.

I kinda liked the movie after seeing it about two months ago, hopefully it's on the CW so if the ratings aren't that good it'll at least get a chance at being renewed

It's like the author of these books was paraphrasing Twilight, Divergent, The Hunger Games and any other teen girl franchises all at the same time.

I read book 1. I couldn't finish book 2, it was awful. I think I have 4 or 5 chapters left. This was last year

I actually liked book1 so I tried watching the movie. I ended up turning it off after 30min, it was that bad

Really? Have you even read the books? Cause the only similarities is that the story is about a bunch a teenage guys (THG and Divergent) and involves supernatural things (Twilight). That's all. Completely diffent stories.

yeah... City of Bones came out 2007 before THG and way before Divergent, and really i dont see the similarities for TMI to those dystopians. As for Twilight the only similarity is it has vampires. Yes there is a love triangle at first but most anything have those and its only for the first 2 books, by the end of the second book Simon is like nah you know what, i want my best friend back. Thus Sizzy begins!
