90. Alicia Keys - No One
US Billboard Hot 100: 1 (5)
My Weekly Chart: 6
Album: As I Am
Obviously a track from 2007, "No One" comes in at #90 this year. I was hooked on this song in the beginning of the year. In fact, it peaked at #6 on my weekly chart. However, as the year went on, "No One" got pushed down further down the chart. However, it isn't bad for a song released in September 2007.
89. Lady GaGa feat. Colby O'Donis & Akon - Just Dance
US Billboard Hot 100: 3
My Weekly Chart: 1 (2)
Album: The Fame
Afte just five weeks on my countdown, "Just Dance" managed to top my weekly countdown. Incredible song. I'm surprised I discovered it so late in the year. (Thanks Z100!
) Could this possibly top my "Best Of 2009" countdown?
88. Kanye West - Love Lockdown
US Billboard Hot 100: 3
My Weekly Chart: 14
Album: 808's & Heartbreak
This was a really disappointing comeback for Kanye West. I was expecting a lot more, after the excellent album that was "Graduation". Eventually, it grew on me, and Z100 started to play the LMFAO remix which 80% of all the pop stations playing "Love Lockdown" are playing. The remix is slightly better than the original, but not by much. Still, there's more Kanye to come.
87. Lil Wayne feat. Bobby Valentino & Kidd Kidd - Mrs. Officer
US Billboard Hot 100: 16
My Weekly Chart: 14
Album: Tha Carter III
This was the fourth single out of Lil Wayne's excellent album, "Tha Carter III". With Bobby V pretending to be a cop car, and this song obviously being about sex, it couldn't go wrong. Still, it's one of my least favorites of Tha Carter III, and there's a lot more Weezy coming up.
86. Akon - Right Now (Na Na Na)
US Billboard Hot 100: 8
My Weekly Chart: 10
Album: Freedom
Love him, or hate him, Akon brings the hits. He also likes to write songs about missing a girl. I find it pretty funny that he can make a song about missing a girl, since on his last album, he made songs about smacking girls, screwing them, and telling us that he has a "right to love". Well, this song is decent. Keep those
hits coming. (That wasn't a pun. :toofunny2)
85. 50 Cent - Get Up
US Billboard Hot 100: 44
My Weekly Chart: 7
Album: Before I Self-Destruct
So, get up! Another artist that 95% of ATRL hates. It's fiddy! Honestly, I've been losing respect for him, ever since he tried to beat Kanye West. However, this is a decent single, but it flopped. Probably a sign of things to come.
84. Rihanna - Rehab
US Billboard Hot 100: 21
My Weekly Chart: 6
Album: Good Girl Gone Bad
I don't care what the critics say. I love this song, and if they can't respect this song, then screw them.
Anyway, taken as the millionth single off her album (you know the name) I thought this would flop big time. Thankfully, it didn't, and that's why it's #84 in 2008. The chance of it being higher in 2009? Well, I don't know. There's Paranoid, duets with Beyonce, Shakira, Flopzinger, Miley Cyrus, and Chris Brown to expect. So, I don't know.
83. Kanye West feat. Chris Martin - Homecoming
US Billboard Hot 100: 69
My Weekly Chart: 17
Album: Graduation
When the fifth single off an old album peaks higher than the first single from a new album, it says something about that song. It's better.
"Homecoming" was the fifth single off "Graduation", and it featured Chris Martin from Coldplay in case you didn't know. At first I hated it, but after my Rhythmic station *****d the hell out of this, it grew on me.
82. Lloyd feat. Lil Wayne - Girls Around The World
US Billboard Hot 100: 64
My Weekly Chart: 14
Album: Lessons In Love
Why did this flop? It had Lil Wayne, it was catchy. It sorta might be a "You" part 2, but come on! It was perfect. I honestly was expecting this to be a huge #1 hit at the rate Lil Wayne was going at the time. It did not live up to the hype, and flopped at #64 on the Hot 100. Shame.
81. The Game feat. Keyshia Cole - Game's Pain
US Billboard Hot 100: 75
My Weekly Chart: 18
Album: L.A.X.
Another underrated flop. However, I was expecting it to flop. It was pretty boring at first, and it just needed something to catch on. It grew on me, but not on most people. How much pain is Game feeling now, since his album bombed?
#80 to #71 tomorrow! Until then, comment y'all!
