I don't think videos like that are allowed on Instagram, and they shouldn't be. No one needs to see killings, and it's horrible for people browsing on their phones, because the video will start playing automatically.

I mean the message of "our problems are nothing compared to whats going on around the world" is right but damn, a 14 year old shouldn't be seeing videos of people being killed and definitely shouldn't be forcing the video on other unsuspecting people.

It's not good to live in a censored media bubble where people are """"""""protected""""""""" from the truth and ACTUALLY important news and impactful stuff going on around the world, as opposed to only being exposed to "family-friendly", cuddly entertainment news et al.

Raising awareness is the key factor to keeping relevant information within public perception, and creating critical thinking and discourse. There is no such thing as too much meaningful discourse and real information (not filtered by some stations' or lobbies' interests...). It's what creates politically and socially aware citizens. In fact we have too little of that in the news and social media.

As to my opinion on censorship of certain topics on social media sites: I think NOTHING of it.

Not everyone wants to see a video of innocent people getting shot in the back multiple times by extremists with machine guns. It's one thing to read about it and totally another to see it happening. I don't need to see it to understand that it's evil.

14 year olds are being Killed, they're being used in wars, they're being recruited into terrorism.

Everyone (especially the young) need to be educated and outraged on what's going on around the world. People need to see the damage first hand all around the world so they care about it. This attitude that young people need to be protected from the real world is just so outdated and wrong.
