Singer, actress and model Selena Gomez has been acting most of her life, but with her latest film Rudderless, the former Disney star is moving away from her family friendly roots, like she did with her well-received performance in the 2012 drama Spring Breakers.
Gomez walked the red carpet in a stunningly gorgeous crimson dress and stopped to talk with ET about working on the film, and revealed that she's been working hard to get more films under her belt.
"[The script] is extremely touching. It's amazing," Gomez said. "And I want to be part of a cast that I can learn from. I think that’s important for me."
On the red carpet, Gomez also teased that she's got some big projects in the works.
"I've got a few surprises coming up," Gomez said. "Within the next two months I think people will be seeing some stuff that I've been working on the past year."
The world can't wait to see what amazing fashions Gomez brings along for her upcoming projects.
"At the beginning of the year, I posted a picture for a secret project and that time is coming," she told while promoting her new movie, Rudderless (in theaters and on VOD on Oct. 17), at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. "I'm so excited. Honestly, it's good. It's music-related and I'm very, very excited. It will be very, very soon."
But it's not like she's pushing her acting career to the side. "I've been auditioning like crazy," Gomez said. "They are totally two different worlds. You're literally begging just to get into a room [for acting], at least for me. Then with music, they're like, 'Come on over! What do you want to talk about?' I'm trying to balance that as best as I can, but hopefully there will be some movie stuff in the beginning of the year."
Spring Breakers 2:
Gomez told me she doesn't want anything to do with it either. "It never got brought to the table for us so I never even knew about it until all the stuff with James," she said. "So nope, definitely not happening."
On the red carpet she also said: "The music I have coming out is So different than everything I've done!"
There should be 2 music videos coming the next month - Hold On & her last HWR single.
One of those surprises HAS to be the Greatest Hits single! At least, if they're still planning on the December release for the GH Album. I'm so ready for new Selena music!
