Please, don't be such a hater dear. Nobody was working harder during Gaga's rise and even today she just released a #1 album while touring for another following intense promotion that was considered relaxed only because her work ethic promo-wise is so unparallelled today.

Unlike Britney her mother wasn't putting in the ground work by pushing her into the industry to support the family as a child. Instead she grew up, did some college (something apparently terrible to half the people here) before dropping out and moving downtown without support to pursue a recording career.

Katy tbh she was dropped 3 times n kept going

Rihanna, her schedule she got her well deserved break now.

Katy. She's the captain of her ship. She moved to La when she was 16 and did everything to achieve her dreams. And she made it.

Obviously Madonna. She did work as a back-up dancer/choreographer and was dirt poor. Let's not forget the seedy environments she had to live in. She was sexually violated and still pushed on in that environment. If that's not a hard-working person, I don't know what is.

Wouldn't that make Britney more hardworking? She was pushed in to the field right after she learned to walk and had to work to support a family of trailer trash hillbillies. I would say a toddler performing weekly to feed her family is a little more hardworking than a private school girl who moves downtown to break in to the industry.

She has been doing shows non stop since before Just Dance blew up. From club to club, from theater to theater, from arena to arena - to stadiums worldwide in less than 3 years. 3 more years later and she is still doing it... Let alone writing all those smashes etc.

Both with Gaga were dropped prior to blowing up as well.

To be fair, most if not all had to hustle maybe sell out on their principles a few times at the very start and had to be mean just to be seen and noticed.
Non of the A list girls just sat at home and people rang their door with a record deal. It's hard work towards the top and it's even harder to stay there. I think nobody should be looking at other girls saying "oh you must have had it easy", that's rather unfair. I am not a fan of many but I recognize and admire their struggle towards getting on top, it is brutal on the body and mind and everyone should appreciate it.
