There's no reason to make sweeping comments about Italians in general just because of a few people.

Italy actually has a more favorable view on homosexuality as a population than South Africa, and in fact shows greater support than all but 6 European and North American countries as well, at 74%.

My friend from Palermo is probably the most accepting person I know, so I guess this isn't the majority

South Africa was. So I don't care what a few bigoted people in the Karoo and Drakensberg think about homosexuality, as long as people can do as they please and in the cities. You hardly hear any homophobia.
