Eastcoast, c'mon I practically honored my stats that era. It just hit me when I saw those sales numbers and then realized how many videos and songs were released. It was a strange moment.

There was no shade...just odd to see it because i spent so much effort talking about looking at records sold (singles+albums+dvds). It was just weird to see that's all. But most people don't have that many videos and for those that do..they don't pull those numbers. Note: Some of those stats are my own and were not publicized in billboard articles...but based on my research. Just sayin

Yeah platinum is very good period but after 9 videos...I remember in 2012 clocking the kim stans from that Team lil kim video thing saying how the re-release will push it over 1M and blah blah blah. It was just strange to see that number and realize how much promo went into that era.
Platinum is based on shipments. Just some tea: PFRR took the old route...to save face a bit but back in the day overcertifying was the norm. Despite Mariah having 2 or 3 diamond albums sales were 7M + music club sales
Rappers would brag about being platinum despite not selling 1M copies.
you only needed 250k to get certified gold and 750k+ sold to be shipped platinum.
I do expect TPP to sell over 1.3M for some reason but when I look back and think about how many artists could have released 8 videos + one promo and end up with those results. Sheesh.

If she gets 8 videos this era, I hope it's closer to PF sales than PFRR

When you take into consideration what some rap/ hip-hop artists are selling with #1s/top 10's, consistent promotion for their songs on award shows, talk shows etc and the discounts on their albums then PFRR's sales aren't bad, at all.

I'm trying not to think of TPP's sales will be. I'm just gonna take them as they come. Pauz.

I was comparing it to having 9 videos for a heavily promoted album to include award show/talk show and discounts not to those with half that

It will be amazing to see the spike in TPP sales as it will show how an actual quality album makes people want to invest in the album and not the singles.

I expect both to be closer to 2M sales vs 1M mark. Hoping those black friday sales are great.

I think its at 1.915 or 1.955 or something. I honestly hope that the week of The PinkPrint is released they reduce PF and PFRRTRU so that PF gets closer to 2M and PFRRTRU can get close to 1M sales.
They NEED to certify that 2x platinum and I agree Riri I think 1M sales might happen in spring if the album is well received.

300k+ 1st week mainly due to reduced prices
then 4 weeks left in the calendar year which i think she will hopefully be at 800/900k
then after low sales and minor boost for grammy appearance i hope by spring it'll be over 1M and then the rest of 2015 it will be over 1.3M

Just so y'all know I don't particularly like to shade Iggy considering I've been a fan since like a week after Pu$$y dropped which is longer than a lot if stans on this website. Don't come in bashing and trying to shade Nicki when there is Iggy and veterans who are considered legends in hip-hop that Nicki outsold (when comparing their most recent studio albums to Nicki's most recent studio album)

It's a shame that some posters were trying to compare her to other vets and newcomers to prove a point but the point is moot if they are comparing against those that haven't had 9 videos and performances on almost every award show during their era, too. For me, I've always just clumped records sold (singles and dvds too) but the HDD tea was a shocking reminder.

Today it's 28 days she announced the release. It feels like yesterday. Time goes by so fast. Before we know it it'll be here, and in the mean time there will be so much other things like it's not as if it's starting in 48 days, before that we'll already have the cover, pre-order, tracklist, third single, EMAs, lots of interviews and possibly a lot of performances.

I waited 2 and a half years. I am ready Onika. COME THRUUUUUUUU.
