And as far as I see it, someone who is thinking about the world and society a new moral/philosophical/metaphysical terms =/= intelligent automatically by association. Some of the most deeply philosophical people I have met in life are actually quite lost. It's one thing to find enlightenment in being educated in new ideas and concepts, but it's another to take things to the extreme and use it as a means of justifying hate (which, to me, is far from intelligent). I understand what she is trying to say about the concept of people not being able to really take hold of their identities due to fear and the troubles in and pressures of the world, but if she is suggesting that homosexuality is a byproduct of the "social construct" and that gays are by nature just giving in to some societal pressures or internalizing and not dealing with trauma/pain of the past which leads to their homosexual "lifestyles", then yes, this is a very homophobic and skewed view supporting the notions that 1.) you are not born gay, and 2.) being gay is bad/impure/sinful/etc. Such a shame.
