Mental illness can show up in a person at any point in their life. Sometimes it lies dormant in them until one day it all just comes bursting out. Amanda was probably born with mental issues but they didn't start to show themselves until these past couple years.

In most schizophrenic people, the first symptoms don't begin until your mid-twenties. Amanda's wacky behaviour began during 2009-2011 when she was 23-25 (while she was dating Kid Cudi, who allegedly got her into weed, which in rare cases can trigger mental illness if it's already underlying), she then dated Doug Reinhardt who said she was crazy, but it wasn't until 2012-now that everything came to ahead and it seemed like she lost touch with reality, and the public became fully aware.
