D(M/F)AB = Designated (Male/Female) At Birth. It means what the doctor checked off on your birth certificate. It’s a term that was invented to avoid using “assigned” because for most trans* people designation/assignment was done with a pen, but for many intersex people (who may or may not be trans*) assignment was done through nonconsensual surgery (this is the original meaning of the terms Coercively Assigned Fe/Male at Birth). So because the two things are so dramatically different it’s best to I use different words for them.

Sorry it's just really funny to me. I've been looking up this stuff since that thread on here. There's nothing wrong with it though if they honestly believe they're a plant it isn't harming me
