With food more often than not categorized into cultural categories, whats your favorite style of food?

I make this thread because I recently am loving visiting different restaurants and trying new things as I don't feel very cultured, what style of food do you recommend? and even possibly a specific dish you would recommend?
I have a question though. In America we see all these different styles and types of culturally based restaurants. Outside of America do they have American style restaurants?
