I hope she wins. This is bs from Abercrombie. Her hajib does not influence how she works in any way, and any one who says it does is stupid. Parts of my country tried to get it banned and it did not work. I go to school with Muslims who wear their hijabs and it has NO effect on them or me. They need to get over it.
If she doesn't fit their image, it's their right not to hire her. People pull the antireligilous/racist card nowadays too easily, as soon as they fail or something bothers them.
Their shallowness seems to have no end. I saw a News Piece about a woman who was fired from there just because she had a baby and was on maternity leave.
I don't get why the girl wanted a job at that racist and biased company anyways. The founder is like a piece of sh*t who only wants a certain kind of people in his jobs and as his customers.
Horrible and the fact that people on this site think this is ok to not hire someone. Just because of how they look let them not hire gays this thread would be 10 pages long calling for ambercrombies head.
Wearing hijab would have zero impact on her ability to do the job. What would be wrong with her wearing it for a photoshoot anyway? I'm being facetious to a degree cuz their recruitment policy is centered on looks rather than ability anyway, obviously.
Wow looking at this thread I can see who the disgusting racists are and who I need to avoid in the future.
Her hijab has nothing to do with her ability to do the job and Abercrombie are not justified in any way for denying her the job
I worked for the company for three years and yes they would take pictures of us sales associates every few months. It's just an image thing. I wouldn't say they are anti-Muslim but they definitely are critical of physical looks.
The legality depends on if they refused to hire her because she's a Muslim or because she wouldn't remove the Hijab. If it's the first, then she CLEARLY has the case. If it's the latter, well, a workplace has the right to set any kind of uniform they want. If you won't comply with that uniform (whatever the reason be), they have the right to not hire you.
I do understand that the Hijab has religious significance and it's not just "some headscarf" to her, but, at the end of the day, it's really not discrimination. They'd be saying the same thing if it really WAS some random headscarf and she wasn't Muslim as well.
EDIT: To clarify, I'd be saying the same thing if it was a Christian being prohibited from wearing a cross. They have the right to set any uniform they want.

It's always like that, the thread could talk about how a racist person killed someone and there will be members saying that it wasn't about race or how they were in their right.
