As did I. But if we really think about it, going into that era she had too many things going on, she started writing the week after Born This Way, and spent ages and ages perfecting while she was laid up in bed.
Meanwhile, her manager didn't give two ***** about her (and she knew it) and let them change her singles. She then sabotaged her entire era and didn't care anymore. Of course it was going to go wrong, no matter how good
we felt about it or how loud we shouted 'YAS!'
This time around, she took a break from writing, had some experiences that have hopefully aided her writing process, released a jazz album with a lifetime idol of hers and centered her mentality into not being so affected when people don't love the album like she does.
She's coming for
blood.
I imagine her version of rock to be like Born This Way (the album in general) was, but without auto-tune and other electronic elements. Or like Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill, for instance.
