ffs the prices

an example I had recently was a man who bought something for £7.50 which it was CLEARLY marketed as on the shop floor. however he had the audacity to say 'actually, it says £7 on the floor', at which point I respond with 'do you want me to go check for you' (which subtextually translates to 'bitch I've worked here for 6 months I know damn WELL what the pricing is and even still do you REALLY want to argue over 50p [so many people do this too uggghhh

]), to which he responded 'no, it doesn't matter, but it does say £7' in a really passive aggressive way, at which point I wanted to slap him because customers won't hear it any other way than that they're correct
I hate how they think they're so clever when they're in a position wherein you literally cannot retaliate and clock them with receipts. like retail's really opened my eyes to how annoying customers can be. i think some people are just naturally rude and I tend to blame it on them being southerners
