So Gaga's not a fashion icon, yet:
She's covered every single fashion magazine, including Vogue's September Issue
She's won the CFDA Fashion Icon Award (same as Riri, before her by the way)
She's been praised by multiple fashion icons. She saved Versace.
She's sometimes more associated to fashion than music
Why won't Navy accept it? The struggle to try to make your fave unique.
anyway, not having people dress in your clothes on the street doesn't nullify your status as an icon. if you look at any mcqueen, mugler or versace show you see things people ain't wearing on the bus to work
but I mean, if your frame of reference goes as far as clothes racks in river island then

exactly! what an embarrassing point of reference.
Lady Gaga literally wears pieces that no one else on Earth will ever touch (except Coco Rocha or Lindsey Wixson for 20 minutes on a runway in Milan or New York). Yet she gets LOANED them sometimes permanently - and she keeps all of these pieces in a huge warehouse b/c the instant Gaga wears anything it becomes hers.

BUT.....The same can be said about the Monsters.
- for anybody to be in this thread and try to downplay either artists influence in the fashion industry is hilarious.
Street wear is a clothing trend and M.I.A. is the girl who broke that look back in 2007-08 and designers picked up on it. Rihanna's megastardom certainly played a part in it.
Just as Lady Gaga's megastardom has played a part in avante-garde fashion being reconsidered by pop girls, the mainstream and vice versa - designers love her. She single-handedly brought the iconic Mugler house back from the grave. The denial is getting borderline crazy no offense.
EDIT: and no, none of the girls "at your school" dress like Rihanna. They wear knock-off styles that girls in high school can afford. Rihanna wears priceless couture mixed with some "street wear" that's probably very expensive as well.
Idk why you are being so ******, I never said anything about Gaga. I know that fashion is the biggest thing she's known for. You said no one dresses like Rihanna and I simply said that the girls at my COLLEGE look like they walked off the WFL set, which they do. Obviously they aren't wearing the brands Rihanna does and idk why that's even relevant.
