They say something about bigger lots?
Because they are too damn small in TS4.

I think I'll eventually buy this when it's discounted. More than likely I will be creating a male Sim instead of a female Sim. Especially since the town has the Caliente mom + sisters to choose from.

I agree, when they released the first pics of The Sims 3, I was so excited because it was something fresh and everything about that game felt like a step forward, keep in mind that back in 2009 the CAS was still simple and it was full of bugs. Now, TS4 doesn't feel like something new, it feels like the 2014 version of The Sims 2 and the reason why some people got bored quickly is because there is nothing groundbreaking in the base game.

Not that I'm unhappy about them doing this, because it's nice, but let's not act like they're not going to try and leave the most for their upcoming expansion packs. There are more features they could've added to the base game. They're just doing this to convince the haters to jump ship to the game by giving them the few features they complained about most.

Of course they have EPs lined up, they've been around since the first game and they make tons of money for EA. But people said they left out base game features people love like pools and ghosts to add them in later as paid DLC. There was no reason to do that because they already have enough ideas for paid content as it is.

I think I'm gonna head back to Desiderata Valley just for tonight because it's Ashlee Simpson's birthday and one of the maids there is Ashlee Couderc

And that is really hard for me to say, and for me to genuinely swallow the truth, because I wanted to see it succeed, and be great, revolutionary, like the previous games, but The Sims 4, just isn't that. I purchased The Sims 4 the day of release in my country, I was excited, but I was ready for the worst, I was pleasantly surprised at the Create a Sim demo, and actually must admit, I do like the look of the sims, but liking the look of the sims, to actually thinking this is a step forward is something entirely different. I played The Sims 4 about 5 times, I use to play for hours on end, on previous games, literally time would fly, extensive periods of time would go by, and I would think where did my day go? This just doesn't happen for me here, I find myself playing for maybe an hour, and I already feel like what is there to do, they should've introduced a whole new feature, to me the emotions are a cute edition, but they become very repetitive, which means the wants of your sim become so repetitive. I basically got my sims to level 10 in their careers, moved them out of their first house, I started to build a house, and maybe I should've given this more of a chance (i've never really been one to build my house anyway, so build mode could be really great) I just didn't feel interested to explore the catalog like I did with previous games. I haven't even married my sims or even made them have children, because I don't know that I can even be bothered. I'll have to see what the first expansion pack is before I truly decide whether I am done with the franchise, regardless this really saddens me, because I remember the first time I saw the look of The Sims 3 on the internet, and I ran around telling all my family members that the Sims 3 was coming out, and how amazing they looked, and how it was going to be an open world, but here their just isn't all that much to get excited about, I'm not disappointed, because with all the backlash they received, this all seemed expected, and I had prepared myself for the worst really, it's not terrible, it's just not a step up like previous editions to the game, and yes people may say this is just a base game etc, but I remember spending hours on end playing The Sims 3 base game, and never tired of it, and before I knew it their was an expansion pack, and yes the Sims 3 had multiple bugs, crashes but it just seemed so new, exciting and fresh to me, and even when it would randomly crash, and I hadn't saved, yes I would be furious, but something in me wanted to go back, and play again. Sadly this one just doesn't offer me anything new, that keeps me wanting to come back for more. I was in this thread around release time, so hyped to buy the game. Even when I got the game, I came in so excited, whilst my game was downloading, so this isn't me being some kind of a hater, or trying to discredit them, but Sorry EA I honestly believe you missed the ball on this one, and that truly makes me sad.

The updates are nice and all, but they won't really make the game any less boring. You'll most likely have to pay for like 80% of the features in the future too.

I'm constantly finding things to do, because I work towards Maxing Out Careers and Fulfilling Lifetime Aspirations, both of which have been heavily improved.
This game I noticed isn't really designed for people who just want to play the Sims and watch them. It's more for people who play objectively.

This is probably a big factor as well.

This is actually a growing concern for me. They keep sitting down to do every little thing.

I hope they add an icon for custom content like in TS3. My CC is really starting to build up now and it's annoying not being able to differentiate between it and EA content.

A lot of people just like running a family day-to-day and just playing it out. A lot of people who play like this are finding TS4 boring.
However, most people who play objectively, like maxing careers, fufilling lifetime Aspirations, completing missions during certain events, searching and collecting items/animals etc. are finding The Sims 4 really fun.
So I think if you play objectively, you'll love the sims 4, but I've just noticed the people looking for just day-to-day standard playing won't find the sims 4 as entertaining as 3, because 4 doesn't focus on that at all.
Just something I've noticed.

So you are basically saying that the people who don't experience everything that the Sims has to offers will find TS4 boring? Because most of what you described has been on previous Sims games, the only difference is that now you can change your lifetime aspiration.
Such a silly excuse, people are finding TS4 boring because it's not exciting. Not everyone has the time to live every single goddamn experience.

All of these EPs sound soooo good!
- Health and Wellness (basically an interactive spa & you can run your own)
- Supernatural (self explanatory)
- City Living (lofts/apartments, rooftop night clubs, start your own band)
- Town Life (build your own town, become the mayor, make your own laws, customise with neighbourhood editing tools, new venues like restaurants, coffee shops, farmers' markets)
- Business Owner (run your own business, clothing boutique, art gallery, bakeries & cafes, photography career)
- Fame and Fortune (become an actor, singer, film director, paparazzi, create films & share them on the gallery)
- Active Careers (go to work with your Sim as a doctor, scientist, detective, office, maid, personal stylist, architect, interior decorator, new career based neighbourhoods)
