The NRL Grand Final clash between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Canterbury Bulldogs is less than a week away, and it appears the league's officials have big plans for the event.
A source told Daily Mail Australia that the National Rugby League have their sights set on a Justin Timberlake performance at the show, which will take place in Sydney's ANZ Stadium on Sunday.
The source said that negotiations between the two parties are still ongoing, but that officials have hopes of a lineup that will rival the NFL's world-famous halftime shows.
Justin, 33, is currently in the middle of the Australian leg of his 20/20 Experience world tour.
The dates line up well for the Suit & Tie singer, as he performs in Sydney's All Phones Arena on Wednesday and Thursday and has a clear schedule until his Perth shows next week.
This year's NFL Super Bowl, which took place in New Jersey back in February, featured performances from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Bruno Mars, Queen Latifah and opera singer Renée Fleming.
The AFL, the NRL's domestic competitor, featured pre-game entertainment from Ed Sheeran, Tom Jones and Olivia Newton John during their Grand Final in Melbourne on Saturday.
But unfortunately Justin had to cut his time on the course short, with club manager Andrew Gay telling Daily Mail Australia 'He was practising with his entourage and was enjoying his time, and had been joking around with staff in the shop, when his people decided it was time to go.'
