If it's the first message yes. You can at least throw a 3 word response their way to show that you read the message and acknowledged it

Sometimes I forget. Or I check my wall and mean to respond but get pulled away and lose the notification reminder.

Well, for me its just laziness. Not many people post on my wall but i responded to everyone except one sis who wanted to get ha life from my avi (***flawless taste tbh) but since i uploaded it from my phone and i find the whole pictures uploading and **** process on here is too ****ing complicated I just... ignored it. Sometimes yes it is rude.. but sometime, its just.. meh.
