R. Kelly made songs with Celine Dion and crossed over to the AC audience with "I Believe I Can Fly." "Ignition" is probably more well-known to the mainstream audiences than majority of Chris' singles.
"Yeah!" was still bigger and more global than any Chris song - urban or pop - and it was an urban song. Chris never had a Diamond or 8x Platinum album. This is just a losing game.

But again, I'm talking about musical style not how "popular" the song was. When I say "pop" I'm talking about the genre, not popularity.
Again, album sales aren't anywhere near like they were in the 90's/early 2000's so bringing up Diamond albums is irrelevant when there are NO diamond albums anymore aside from Adele

It took Usher over 10 years to get a song that big and mainstream. Like I said, Chris was well on his way already by his SECOND effort. Had it not been for him mollywhopping Rihanna I'm sure he would have booked one way before now.
