I'm pausing on the single list and decides to start on my top 30 albums.
NG Presents: NG's Top 30 Albums of 2008 (#30-28)
30. Snow Patrol - A Hundred Million Suns
Released: October 24, 2008.
Best Tracks: The Golden Floor, Take Back the City, Cracked the Shutters, Lifeboats

Follow up to the success of
Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol's
A Hundred Million Suns promises the fans to reconnect the same moments they fell in love with since
Final Straw. Don't let the fun track like "Take Back the City" fools you into thinking that
A Hundred Million Suns is going to be a happy, upbeat album. The songs are lean more toward the ballads, but these are good ballads, just not as good as their previous efforts. Songs like "Crack the Shutters" feature the band's signature soaring choruses and bursting guitar hooks while “Lifeboats” smoothly outdoes the Coldplay’s trademarked mid-record style.
29. Lady GaGa - The Fame
Released: August 19, 2008.
Best Tracks: Just Dance (Feat. Colby O'Donis), Beautiful Dirty Rich, Poker Face, LoveGame

The Fame fulfills its own prophecy, promoting Lady GaGa as a jet-setting, international celebrity when in reality she runs the risk of being confused with Gwen Stefani or Christina Aguilera. "Just Dance" is a track that screams out for party goers' attention proving the album to be a definite club jam. The album has sassy tracks like "Poker Face" and "Beautiful Dirty Rich" showcases GaGa's fierce style. I have to give Lady GaGa some props for trying to distinct herself apart from the recent pop acts.
28. Jennifer Hudson - Jennifer Hudson
Released: September 27, 2008.
Best Tracks: My Heart, Pocketbook (Feat. Ludacris), Spotlight, If This Isn't Love

Hudson's long time effort have paid off because her album is pretty good. With big time producers like Timbaland, Stargate, and Polow Da Don; Hudson shines throughout her first solo album. "Spotlight" is a track that sounds pretty bland at first, but will grow on you. I love the Timbaland and Ludacris track, "Pocketbook", it's fun, catchy, and shows that Hudson can sing something else besides ballads. The highlight of the album has to be "My Heart", the track is well-written and the beat is sick guaranteeing her next big hit. Not to mention, the album is nominated for a Grammy! That pretty much proves my point.
