I don't think it's necessarily you, but rather that ARTPOP gets trashed so much outside the base that we (intentionally or unintentionally) try to foster nothing but positivity about the album here. That and the phrase "Gaga's old material was so good - what happened?" is unnerving. (I know you're not saying that exactly, but it's a similar concept.) It's not you though, I promise.

Honestly, though, I could care less. I love all of Gaga's albums, so any support towards any of them is a win in my opinion.

For her, a somewhat sober woman saying to the man she loves (or her fans whichever) that she needs them more than the drug that she had given her life to, means a lot. It means she's willing to give up the substance that made her feel fine (Mary Jane Holland hihihi) for the man (or fans) that make her feel even better, because the love from her fans/man is real and not temporary like dope.
Thats why there's so much emotion. She's literally begging her fans and Taylor to stay with her because she needs them more than anything.

Some fans get very defensive over ARTPOP cause it underperformed

The Fame & The Fame Monster are brilliant but most of the fans from those eras left, both online and in real life

Don't feel bad. This fanbase likes to trash each other. It's not meant to insult you. It's all mostly playful.

She should work with redone but not on generic dance songs. They both need to experiment because they can really create magic together

I honestly don't get why so many The Fame and The Fame Monster stans left with ARTPOP. Other than commercial success, it's far more like her first two albums than Born This Way is.

I honestly have no idea what to expect from Gaga for her next solo record. And that makes me really excited.
I still have hope that she'll give us ARTPOP Act II for Christmas or something.

I don't really care what direction she goes, I just want to see that she can bring it LYRICALLY. ARTPOP was a damn mess when it came to the lyrics on most songs. So many great beats ruined by cheesy lyrics (Aura, Venus, ARTPOP, come to mind)

Hopefully Paradise can do that for me.

One thing I must give I Wanna Be With You in favor of Dope is the line "I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and alone." I mean, what kind of honest, emotional lyrics.
