The idol era is over tbh. It's too restrictive and eventually it will completely implode. Just look at how many scandals have happened this year.

Jessica leaving will destroy the group. Fan reports are saying Tiffany was furious at the airport. The group image is ruined now and they all know it.

I can't say... Sica is a massive part of SNSD, internationally and in Korea... I don't even know if likening this to past SM departures would be fair. It depends on the details of course. Sica makes it sound as if SM/"the other 8" turned on her, which could be bad news for them if the public go into her corner.

@ you saying JYJ are "fine" though, jongshic. They're lucky they have loyal fans. That was a much different time in K-Pop too. So like I said, I'm not sure it there's correlation between the two.

as much as the "sisterly 9 girls" image was one of the core selling points of SNSD, everyone has different view points.
Some fans who think Jessica got unrightfully kicked out by SM+SN8D will side with her and drop SN8D, some fans who still believe in SN8D will side with them

In terms of public image / GP reception, this is super bad for SNSD but Comedor mentioned "will fans support SNSD8?" and I think SN8D will be "fine"

How is JYJ not fine though. They still have top tier physical sales, sold out concerts and do extremely well in the fields they promote in

That's your opinion and I won't challenge it, that's cool. Mine is that it's just too early to play the guessing game, either way... I'm still in mourning/acceptance mode.
