First of all, this is not flamebait, this is not shade (I'm an Apple stan) and is without the intention of fighting. It's merely a discussion because I wanna hear opinions from different people.
I've read many times that the quality control and quality itself of Apple products have gone downhill ever since Jobs left. And to be honest it always sounded silly to me cos I thought "how could this be true? it's different people with different responsibilities regarding the products" but lately I've had lots of Apple products pass through my hands and I've seriously started to reconsider my position. I thought about the 4S I bought in 2011 and the iOS (5) it came with and I compared it to newer generations and newer iterations of the iOS and I concluded that the build quality was astonishingly better back then. Never once did I have to return an Apple product back then but weirdly enough I got a new iPhone 3 weeks ago and so far I've had to return it twice because of their displays and other issues. Don't even start me on iOS 7 last year and this year's iOS 8.
It seems to me that they really have kinda lost the control and they need some serious change of direction. Why do you think is that? I'm not referring to the bending incident, I'm gonna go ahead and say that yeah, since it's a really thin phone and aluminium tends to bend you kinda have to be careful with it, but there are many other Apple aspects that clearly lack the detail there was in there when Jobs ran the company. I'm referring to software, the display and how many people have been having issues with it (backlight bleeding, pixels etc) and other things.

Discuss! And please don't shade me, as I said I really do like Apple and I've been supporting them for years now. I just think that this forum has many Apple users and it'd be interesting to hear different opinions. Please don't start throwing shade at any other companies, I could care less about them, this is merely an Apple discussion.

Jobs left product designs. The quality control is something entirely different controlled by those who've been running the company ever since he left. The manufacturers they choose for the screens and other parts, the quality standards that are applied, generally the tight fist that Jobs ran the company with and it's obviously now gone.

If you gotta be rude at least be rightfully rude.

People believing ONE person alone was responsible for quality control Apple would've taken the same path with or without Jobs and iPhone is still the superior phone.

Actually the amount of quality issues has only decreased since his death. The iPhone 4S was pretty much the first iPhone that didn't have a major problem associated with it. etc.

Did you actually read the post in its entirety? Did you read my initial thoughts? I said that I didn't believe "one person alone was responsible for quality control". It's very weird though how most of the problems started after he left.

Yes.

Even I, as an Android fan, think it has gone down, but not down hill.
They're still at the top, they still make an almost perfect OS and will always be on top.
The iPhone 6 served as a test to wether they are ready to enter the Phablet world. Clearly, they're not. As for now.

I bet Apple will gather their ideas until they're nice and cool and will deliver an iPhone 6S that knocks everyone's socks off.

Still, won't buy an iPhone just for the sake of having one. I need processing power and customization.
By bf can't even block anonymous calls. He's been nagging me to find a way of doing that on his 4S.
