First off Obama is only part of 1/3 of the American federal government. We have the house and senate too.
Second off states have a lot of individual control
Third private companies are doing exceptionally well right now (though could be doing better if there were tax cuts)

Yet none of this wealth created is going to the middle or lower classes. It's staying in the hands of the rich and powerful because of loopholes and loose restrictions on Wall St. Obama is nothing more than a corporatist, he doesn't care about the poor neither does anyone else in Congress, trickle down economics doesn't work, it never has and the gap between the rich and poor is only widening. This isn't a victory, it's a sad condemnation on the US that it will grow by close to 5% yet the income to those in the lower income brackets will continue to decrease relative to life expenses (rent, food).
