As some of you may already know, Taylor Swift had an interview in Montreal yesterday on a talk show called Tout le monde en parle. The interview is set to air on Sunday night (2014-09-28).

Everything went well until one of the interviewers confessed to her: "I didn't know who you were."

This is how it went down:

Montreal interviewer: "C'est drôle, parce que quand j'ai su qu'on recevait Taylor Swift, (…), je pensais que c'était un joueur de hockey. Je ne vous connaissais pas."

Translation : "It’s funny, because when I learned that we were going to receive Taylor Swift here, (…), I thought that it’d be a hockey player. I didn’t know who you were."

Did Taylor deserve this?

P.S.: I am from Montreal and was curious about Taylor's interview on Tout le monde en parle. We don't get a lot of American artists here, so I was surprised.

I read somewhere that she isnt popular on the French part of Canada, and that she was trying to break in that market with this era. So i guess she was unknown there before

Either way, i dont think being honest should be called "shading". The interviewer was telling Taylor the truth

Even if Taylor´s popularity outside the US is questionable, he should be informed before hand who is he interviewing. Kind of unprofessional tbh.

Did you see the interview ? He did research on her ofc, he just didnt know her name when they told him he would interview her next session.

She handled it well though.

I'm not surprised because Taylor isn't big here I didn't even know she was in the city. and also the Interviewers is a huge celebrities here, he won't get fired nor will it affect him in any way. Also he did do his research he simply didn't know who she was before he was told she was coming to show.
