It's not and it wasn't to begin with. Fresh? Eek. A lot of it sounds dated, actually.

The album was mediocre at best. Teenage Dream was much better.

EDIT: Actually a lot of Prism sounded like Teenage Dream left overs.

The album got stale after the first few weeks and the consensus is that you could toss out basically half the album.

I never found it good overall.

There were a lot of great albums to come out of 2013 but I wouldn't count Prism among them.

Prism was eh to me upon release, and it hasn't gotten better. I don't see it aging well, unfortunately.

The Monsters and all the other jealous haters ganging up on Katy again

Some of the songs don't age well (i.e. Birthday, International Smile) but that's mainly because of Dr. Luke & Max Martin. Roar, Legendary Lovers & Dark Horse are pretty much the best uptempos on the album. This Is How We Do is cute but not in the same territory as that trinity. The ballads are where the album shines more in terms of quantity because This Moment, It Takes Two, Choose Your Battles, By The Grace of God and Double Rainbow are all great songs.

Teenage Dream however will always be Katy's best album: E.T., Firework, The One That Got Away, Hummingbird Heartbeat, Pearl, Who Am I Living For?, Not Like the Movies, Wide Awake, Last Friday Night, Cali Gurls, Peacock, hell even the overrated Teenage Dream make this album pop perfection.

PRISM is like pop corn, when it's cold no one wants it anymore. I used to listen to it every now and then, but looking back it's not all that "fresh" or "great".
