Gaga:"I found the fighter who was ready to take on the world
Quote:
She admits that she was suffering from a crisis of confidence. After schlepping around the lower rungs of the New York and Los Angeles music scenes from her late teens to her early twenties, she finally found success with the release of her debut album, The Fame, in 2008. But even though – or, because – she was the songwriter, “I was a 22- to 27-year-old girl in the studio with a lot of older men around me... So it’s quite scary for the corporations that I work with, because everyone relies on me to produce the creative.
“And so everyone’s looking at me, going: ‘Sooo... is it gonna be electronic?’ Or: ‘You’re gonna do dance music, right?’ Or: ‘You’re gonna have another “Poker Face”, won’t you, or another “Bad Romance”?’” She sighs. “It’s a very unhealthy way to take care of an artist. We don’t do very well when we feel pressure. When we feel free and open, this is when creativity shines.”
The Cheek to Cheek project, then, came at an auspicious time. The unstinting, unquestioning respect of Bennett has rebooted her confidence, and also caused her to reappraise how she takes to the stage. Singing together, “I take a much more... meditative,” she says carefully, “approach to the performance. I’ve got wide-open ears. The ArtRave has routines, and there’s a performance-art aspect that has been designed. [But with Tony] there’s not a lot of rehearsal in terms of the steps, it’s all completely improvised the entire thing.”
What has her latest collaboration taught her?
“Gosh, it’s taught me so much,” she shoots back in breathy reply. “And more than teaching me, it’s made me myself again. I got really lost for a little while. I felt like I didn’t even know who I was any more. And with Tony I found that boxer, that fighter within me who was ready to take on the world.”

She's so right tho.. look at how ARTPOP turned out after she felt the pressure to make radio friendly music after BTW etc...
And look at how good TFM and BTW turned out when she was at the TOP and no one could tell her anything, because she was their moneymaker...

Cheek to Cheek has done so many wonders for her. She's feeling happy again.
I can't wait for her to use that Born This Way spirit and write killer tracks from her SOUL like The Edge of Glory, Dance In the Dark, Bloody Mary, etc.
I have a feeling ARTPOP came out the way it was because of all the negativity before hand: the hip accident, her relations with her management, tour cancellation, etc. Like, it's still a great album but it was not taken to it's full potential.

Gaga should start her own label. She cares so much about artists and their art, and she knows how bigger corporations treat artists. I'd like to see her do something about that. Perhaps under her own label she can release a project sponsored by her and release the album she's always wanted to. Right now I sense that's she fed up with pop scene and being a pop girl, but I'd like to see her actions make way for a change instead of her just talking about it.

I was right when i said that a lot of her problems were from a confidence issue. I hope that she stays happy for as long as possible.

Hopefully this means her next album will be better. ARTPOP is and always will be her worst album with only four listenable tracks.

Let's not.
And...
ARTPOP is not bad. Compared to the POP world it's one of the better albums.
It's just that BTW and TFM were a lot higher than the Pop music standard... ARTPOP is not bad in any way, it's only problem is that it's no TFM/BTW size of epicness.

Artpop is a bad album, at least in my opinion, she worked with generic sound but failed to deliver relatable lyrics, wich kind of killed the sound, songs like manicure and guy were built to be "hits" yet their lyrica destroy every chance

Thank God I'm not in the studio with her, this sounds like exactly something I would say
