The government is really stupid. Like kidnappers and terrorists? I'm sorry but if I ever kidnap somebody I'm sure as hell not going to have my phone with me and I'm not going to have it marked on my calendar. Also, the people who want to crash planes and kill people probably already know how to avoid detection so all they really want to do is spy on the average citizen.
It's bad enough riot gear makes it near impossible for people to riot and protest anymore. With the way even local police are armed these days, we're living in a total police state
You do realize this is a good thing? Apple has absolutely no way of knowing your passcode, so the government can't subpoena them and access your data without you knowing.
It isn't their position to anyway. If the government wants to see what you're doing, they should subpoena YOU.
So nice of Apple to protect their customers!
