Streaming has taken over. More people are going to stream stuff than pay for HBO now a days. Cable is expensive.
Plus it was a saturday night when most of her demographic of listeners were probably out enjoying life than staying in, it's summer still not winter, most people are still going out and not staying in on a weekend night

Y'all are the ones who ALWAYS talk about how certain artists don't sell anymore because they're flopping or irrelevant, but then you mention how they'd rather stream than pay which can also be taken into the context of illegal downloads.

The Monster Ball special aired on a Saturday as well during a month when examinations start and people are too busy studying to care about a concert, so you TRIED IT. Lady Gaga ALONE pulled in 1.2M viewers; Beyonce along WITH Jay Z couldn't even pull in 900K And don't talk about demographics because according to ATRL, Gaga's demographic consists of messy gay teens and messy gay teens are especially messy when out on weekends, so don't bother trying

When you read comments in the already closed thread http://atrl.net/?t=682843 and see how some members claim the real #s are gonna be even higher. Then you enter this thread and see that The Hive never fails to provide kii's.
its easy to explain: Both have been overexposed and people start to lose their interest cause theyve been so so much in the media. The amount of viewers has nothing to do with the quality of the show, but more with the interest in the performing acts. Now is the perfect time to take a step back, enjoy parenthood and come back next year in december or so.
On another note, Im pretty sure the DvD/Bluray is going to sell very fine tho.

When the MTV Awards changed the date from Saturday to Wednesday & aired in the same time with Obama's speech and draw 6 mill viewers the hive was like "the lack of Rihanna's star power".
The desperation is real.
Accept that the HBO special was a huge flop considering the "size" of the artists!
