It seems like every week a new terror group comes out and tries to plot the next 9/11. The u.s. should not take any of them seriously , all we got to do is protect our borders(land, sea and skies) and we will be okay.

Also, how can they protect the skies? They can increase airport security and all that, but at the end of the day these terrorist groups don't need to hijack planes, they could probably just get a plane of their own and fly over to the US.

Also, a lot of the time terrorists attack their own countries, so in those cases not letting people in wouldn't help in the event that an American terrorist decided to attack.

We can protect the skies by having air force jets on 24 hour alert, we did that during the cold war.
The fact that you think americans should be protecting other countries makes you weak. why cant you protect your country instead of the u.s.?

What a naive view. While yes, most threats are just all talk and no action, it would be incredibly reckless for governments not to take them seriously.

The threats that people should pay no mind to are the ones that are announced prior to it happening. Every year around the 9/11 anniversary, or a big event like the Olympics you hear in the media 'agencies on high alert for terror activity' such nonsense. A terrorist attack is designed to catch people off guard. Kill one, scare millions.

If they take control of countries and begin a genocide, the US and the West should take action.
If they kill an American/European in order to goad the West into conflict, Western media should stop acting as the messenger and the CIA should attempt to deal with the individual culprits through special ops rather than full scale offensives.

Having jets on standby 24/7 or in the sky 24/7? Military jets are already on standby year round, if you mean the latter, would is fitting the bill for that?

I somewhat agree but media coverage should never be restricted. People have a right to know. Ignorance is bliss and people have to be made aware of what's happening around them
