Police are trained to exhaust all options before they kill someone. In this case someone whom has a knife is usually wounded but not killed. Having said that, I don't know the specifics around the case so we can't say for sure what happened however we also know the police have acted wrongly in other instances.
I don't think this kid deserved to be killed. What a horrible thing to say even if he was linked with ISIS. As was pointed out, he was in with the wrong crowd, right?
Imagine being a teenager growing up with poor education, poor healthcare, dealing with racism, watching the government argue about banning parts of your culture, knowing your government killed 500k innocent people that were from your race, watching the government deny medical care to people of your race that are trying to seek assylum - And then, falling into the wrong crowd.
That is what radicalises Australians.
If this person deserves to die then so does John Howard and George Bush whom started a war that killed 500k innocent people based on proven fake evidence. Infact they should be standing trial for conspiracy to commit mass murder but anyways, you don't fight brutality with brutality. He should pay for his crime, for sure and if he had to be killed to protect the officers safety then yeah, that happened.
But he didn't
deserve death. That's the same attitude ISIS hold.
