I know plenty of good looking people who have had bad lives and are a mess.

Well usually the ugliest people have the best personalities, so see that as a good thing.

I wonder the same thing. So many ugly people carry themselves with this air of confidence and I'm just like "How do you do it? Do you not have a mirror in your household you confident b***h "

Mmm confidence is hard thing to get, it really is.

I was chubby and kind of off looking throughout my teens but even though I the extra weight and become more good looking, I still wasn't confident. I would always compare myself to other people or see a bad picture/angle and feel bad about myself.

Eventually you just learn to deal with it, and I don't really have a secret to becoming confident, it just sort of fell into place for me. I still have days, or moments where I don't feel good enough, but largely it just takes time and acceptance.

When you acknowledge what you look like and don't care.

I'm not ugly but I'm aware that I'm not going to land a gig in Mr.World or whatever anytime soon but I'm beyond find with it.

omg, and theres always that fat loud kid in every class who gives no ****s about what people think of him/her. they're loud and vocal about their opinions when they're physically not very good looking. always been jealous of them, tbh,

Beauty is subjective. What one person finds ugly, another may find attractive. Plus, most of the really 'hot' people I come across are either cocky af or extremely boring.

Im not exactly 'ugly' but I'm not super hot. I'm in the middle.

Attractive people are more insecure than unattractive people. One of the reasons for this is because attractive people strive for perfection, a little bit of imperfection such as weight or maybe pimples may lower their confidence. Attractive people are also likely to find social approval from others.

But with people who are considered unattractive they LEARN to embrace their imperfections, and will not look for as much social approval. They like themselves for who they are and believe in themselves, and although it may look conceited to others, it is just a way of showing confidence.

Most people can get beautiful at least on average rate if they start caring of themselves, working out, getting right hairstyle...

No-one should have to feel ashamed of how they look. But if you want to feel better about yourself, treat yourself to new clothes or wear clothes you own that you love and your confidence will boost. Works for me when I'm having 'ugly days'.
