How does any of this mean that she is a label puppet? Pushbacks are unfortunately a normal part of a label deal these days, especially when the marketing side of things doesn't go according to plan (which is all too often currently with the messy and unstable plans some labels have crafted for these newer artists). A label puppet would be someone who has sacrificed their integrity for the sake of a label, which doesn't seem to be the case here at all.

Definitely a stupid mistake. Boom Clap is doing well and Break The Rules is starting it's run. A month from now would be perfect, by then the single will be higher and she can promote both the single and album in late October.

I think the record label was expecting Break the Rules to smash quick on its own and that didn't happen.

However, now that KIIS FM added it and more and more stations are playing it I think it would be a great idea to release it on its original date. In a month from how the song can be a decent hit plus give it longevity as it rises. Plus, they are barely sending the single to radio in two weeks from tomorrow.

No. Break the Rules hasn't even been sent to radio. They probably want Break The Rules to run its course as a single before the album's released (and make Boom Clap become a hit in Europe). As they don't want Sucker to get lost in the sea of November releases, it was accordingly decided to push back the album to December. I am yet to decipher what the 4-week gap between the US and the international release is about, though.

Who cares at this point anyway? The era's so far been a mess. I don't even think she should've put Boom Clap on the record, it should've been a FIOS track and it should've been independent and its sales shouldn't have affected Sucker. Plus they released the first single WAY too soon! Like wth???

I'm not even sad. I've got so much music the past few months and I'm gonna be getting so much in the coming months too, so if Charli wants to push the date that's fine. I mean, I'm still gonna be here, I'm not as dramatic as some people go saying "I'm done stanning". It's just that her momentum will be less by then.

if her label is smart, they'll promote the hell out of Break the Rules and then launch the album on that. launching an album on the first single that's already peaked and a second single that hasn't done anything yet probably isn't a smart move so i get this.

Her explanation makes no ****ing sense. Why would you wait until the hype DIES to release the album?? More like, she/her label pushed it back because Break the Rules is a flop-basic-ass piece of trash compared to Boom Clap (and super love tbh) and they probably didn't have faith in the rest of the tracks as singles either.

I'm calling it now, before December she's going to come back with a revised Tracklist and Break the Rules will be downgraded to a "promo single" to save face. And why over a month difference between the US and UK release dates? Gorl bye. By the time your album actually comes out nobody will even want or remember who you are. A messy-ass Foxes tea tbh.
