DO YOUR RESEARCH before you go around generalizing both Arabs and Muslims.

See? Arabs/Muslims are so ignorant of their violent past they don't even know about the Arab Slave Trade which lasted 1,000s of years or the Muslim conquest, yet white people r so horrible even though they're the only ones trying to make amends for their past.

I love how people are like "I don't want immigrants to spread their Allah and their ignorant religion" when Europe and USA send missionaries to the countries in Africa in order to "convert and guide them".

"They". There are millions of immigrant Muslims in Europe who are just trying to make a living.
The first wave of Moroccan immigrants in the Netherlands came here and worked their ass off, just like they were asked to. In fact, they were the ones who were being harassed. It's the second and third generation that is making all the ruckus. But they were born here, so they're Dutch. There's no "native country" to go back to. They're our problem, not Morocco's.

You changed what I quoted.
The thing I quoted made it seem that you are speaking in the present tense.
Don't act coy or call me ignorant because I'm not the one that is.

some of the responses in this thread are really racist arabs shouldn't be disallowed from countries and just assumed to be bad people. that's racist and wrong. like, you guys say you want "tighter" restrictions, but if you look at countries like america, "tighter" means "almost never allowed at all"

It's so easy to say how the immigrant laws should get tighten when you are white and not an immigrant who is trying to find a better life.

No point arguing with them privileged white western Europeans they don't see because they never lived through it. They believe their countries are the best on earth and don't see the fault of their own law making.

I haven't kept up with this discussion but I'd like to say I don't mind Muslim immigration here at all.
I live in Germany which is, as most know, full of Turkish Immigrants. Berlin is the second most populous Turkish city of the world after Istanbul. The many I have interacted with have all done a great job at integrating themselves into German culture without sticking their own culture into other people's faces.
I do have friends who live under very strict rules but most of the other families have encountered to a very modern way of lifestyle - that meaning their religious beliefs do never come into the way or up negatively.

Once again I do not think my country was a colonizer on the decision making level ever in the history of mankind and I stick to this.
|
One reason was because they were weak, when they combined crowns it was too late for Hungary to get into colonizing. Hungary was previously apart of the Austrian Empire, it wasn't independent during the whole colonizing thing. Which is why I used the key word "nearly" not all.
Anyway it isn't off topic. One of the main reasons people are immigrating to Europe is because these were the countries Europe butt ****ed, taking all their resources and not allowing them to self develop. Africa is a huge example of this. Really Europeans don't have anyone to blame but themselves. Which is why it's so important to learn history.

that's because Germany actually gives a chance to it's immigrants by giving them full access to their education system (which is btw completely free).

When did Indians come to Europe to expand their religion and beliefs? By doing yoga? You sound so ignorant...
Pakistanis and Afghans are not "Indian"...

omg you're so xenophobic. just because someone spreads their traditions that they've been taught to have THEIR ENTIRE LIFE doesn't mean that conditions in their home country are good. it's also possible to love your country and still want to have a new start somewhere else if your life there is in a bad place. you just want everyone to be your perfect little idea of what a european is instead of being diverse, and part of that includes hating anyone that isn't white. how blatant can you be???

...why??? how is that even wrong??? how dare someone want to share the values that they treasure with other people, i guess.

the arab slave trade isn't related to this discussion because the reason european imperalism was brought up was because it's a factor in why the person thinks europeans think they're better than people from other countries. the past acts of arabs taking over an entire culture. also, the europeans were more successful and widespread, and a lot of the changes they made were permanent, so europeans have more of a reason to still think of themselves that way. honestly, going by this thread, europeans seem to really think that. but way to generalize an entire race that you know absolutely nothing about.

But Arabs/muslims have been enslaving, colonizing, murdering all non-believers for 1,000s of years before Europeans. Let's not pretend Europeans were the first and only group of people to do this, they just took it to a grand scale and are the only ones who are trying to make amends for their past mistakes. I don't see arabs or Chinese or even Japanese apologizing to for the atrocities their ancestors did years ago.

wow, you're just a full out white supremacist. jesus

Key word: some.
Just like you have some locals who do things you don't like. Like the ones that go and protest at concerts, I'm sure you don't support that, right?
But it doesnt make it fine and neither does it mean that every christian will act the same way.

Stop painting arabs as only victims. They had their slave trade too. I'm not responsible for the imperialism of the previous generations. I'm fine with a limited immigration when the economic environment allows it and when those coming into the country respect all the cultural aspects of the country they're joining (secularity for example). Given the economic crisis in the Euro zone, I don't understand why hundreds of thousand of immigrants whom we are struggling to assimilate keep coming in every year.

Yes, so tighter immigration will allow the majority to come but filter out the few bad people.

Agreed.
And lol @ people getting upset at me for generalizing (I'm not) when they too are also generalizing a whole race(s) of people (Europeans).
I'm not white but what is wrong with them wanting to preserve their heritage, cultures, and traditions? You don't see Koreans and Chinese immigrating to Japan on a mass scale demanding them to change and adapt to their ways.
