I feel that most of us have such high standards for whatever reason. When someone is decent looking, most of us would be like, "NEXT" or "UGLY", etc...
Physically, men in general tend to have high standards, it's just that with straight men that is balanced out by the woman (who doesn't normally have as high standards). With gay men, it's a shallow man times 2 so it's even worse than normal.
Physical standards for sure, not everyone can be Zac Efron. Basically if you don't look amazing they'll call you ugly, I've seen it on this site too often.

Physical standards, yes. Gays are generally too carnal.
Mental standards, no, most need to raise them— assuming they have any at all.

I used to think my standards were too high. But since then I've found 2 wonderful guys that are up to my standards. Don't lower your standards out of desperation.
If your standards are realistic, then no, you shouldn't settle for less. However, if you're like some ATRLers who aspire to "find a rich muscular daddy with a big D" knowing damn well they're no more than a 4, then yes, your standards MUST be lowered
They already are they just act like they have high standards on the internet do yoy honestly think that the average gay/atrl member is dating zac efron, franco bros, idris elba, trey etc and if they only date men of this caliber theyre gonna be alone for a long time.
