This fear campaign is out of control. It's all propaganda to get the public on side to put troops on the ground again and it's working, the public are eating it up. My sisters fiancé is high up in the police force and yes, while they are watching certain groups for suspected terror links, it's nothing like what the media is making it out to be.

It feels like the build up to another war, this is the part where they manipulative public opinion into thinking a war is necessary

The news article is true, the raids did happen, but like I said, it's all propaganda to get troops on the ground again. They raided an Islamic bookstore last week and made a huge spectacle of it. 'Terror hits Australia' was on the front of all newspapers, leading every news bulletin. I have family in the police task force dealing with this current situation, the media are grossly exaggerating

And how do you know it's to get troops on the ground? Bad news sells, whenever there is a disaster or scare the media hops on it. I doubt the government told them to scaremonger over Islam.

You really have no idea how propaganda and scaremonger works do you?

The vast majority of Australians are against deploying troops back in the Middle East so Tony has to win them over. Get them thinking our national security is at threat and that we need to get troops on the ground
