why are you calling out Rihanna in the OP then trying to say you're not calling her out? Rihanna has seven Grammys and Björk unfortunately has one, still more than Katy.
In reality Grammys are important and regardless of your views on them they will remain the most important Music awards ceremony.
Of course people are using the lack of Grammys as shade towards Katy, just as people used lack of a number one album on Rih or how people ised lack of top tens for Bey during the 4 era.And everyone knows Björk is a great artist the same can't be said for Katy so this case you're trying to make for her won't make things any better for her.

Okay, but the Grammys are no different. It's just a small group of people deciding on the winners. Why are they held to a higher standard than Meteoritic? Cuz you get a trophy?

Björk might not have any Grammys, but she has universal industry respect, is frequently placed on best-of lists even decades later for her innovation and influence, has much more prestigious awards (Polar Music Prize, Cannes Best Actress in a Palme d'Or-winning film, among many others), the list goes on.

When you don't have ANY of those things, I guess a Grammy might be a nice form of validation of your craft

Though they still don't mean tooooo much in the grand scheme of things. The Grammys have gotten it wrong very often, much more than the Oscars or Golden Globes.

The grammys are fake fraudulent and are either purchased or traded for favors, they are not a mark of true musicianship.. Many artists have said this. so to answer your question, Yes to an artist it can establish credibility in the music industry but in reality they aren't because a grammy wont make people buy your music, it doesn't mean you will have a long career AND it doesn't mean that your music is any better than another artists.

They are at certain level, in the industry and can be used to upper the value of an artist.

But that stupid metacritic page is the most irrelevant BS that there can exist. No one but stans use that ridiculous stats to brag about it on internet. Critical acclaim is BS.
