Björk might not have any Grammys, but she has universal industry respect, is frequently placed on best-of lists even decades later for her innovation and influence, has much more prestigious awards (Polar Music Prize, Cannes Best Actress in a Palme d'Or-winning film, among many others), the list goes on.
When you don't have ANY of those things, I guess a Grammy might be a nice form of validation of your craft
Though they still don't mean tooooo much in the grand scheme of things. The Grammys have gotten it wrong very often, much more than the Oscars or Golden Globes.
