Joss Stone has claimed that her songs could never match up to the music created by her idols in the 60s.

The 21-year-old singer admitted that she gets annoyed when the current batch of soul stars are compared to their predecessors.

“Amy, myself, Adele, Lily - we’re all very different but we all love 60s soul music and 50s and 70s,” Stone told the Daily Star. “But it’s not 60s soul music we make today and it never will be. Acts today will never record like those artists did.”

She added: “We’re nodding our hats and saying thank you to the Dusty Springfields and Gladys Knights. It’s a shame people are putting us in the same category ‘cos the 15-year-olds who’ve never taken the time to discover that music won’t bother.”
