Letting go ain't easy
Oh, it's just exceedingly hurtful
We just can't give up nooow
TIHWD's come too far from where it started from
(see the Bible says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit)
Nobody told us the road would be easy
And I don't believe the GP's brought it this far to not peak in the top 20
Things on radio will turn around next week or never. The song will be on AT40 once again on Sunday, so I hope one of the big stations lets the light in
Here she says her favorite songs are Unconditionally and This Is How We Do. All the single choices were made by Katy, so it's not Capitol's fault, they just went along with her. But I really wanted to understand Katy's mind... who in this planet would choose TIHWD over Legendary Lovers, Birthday over Walking On Air? I mean, sis.
Let Capitol take the lead again like the Teenage Dream era.
So maybe this is it I guess. MAYBE. Sales and streaming wasn't the real problem of this single. Without a performance or promo, sales and streaming did well. The only problem was the radio stations which refused to play the song. I really hope Katy, Katy's team and Capitol find out the problem and solve it. I don't want these big radio stations to start snubbing Katy. TIHWD will be a gold-certificated, top25 hit with a vevo certified video. And that's it. I really want Katy to come back with a top5 single, WOA or LL are the perfect choices. Katy, her team and Capitol MUST take the best decision and start planning how they are gonna get the sixth single to succeed, in terms of sales, streaming and radio. I hope they make it. I want the sixth single to be her last PRISM single. I want a ****ing great video and a ****ing big promo.
Suddenly everyone "knew" Birthday and TIHWD were going to underperform when at least in Birthday's case I barely remember someone saying it would underperform. If LL is released and it underperforms I'm ready for everyone saying they "knew" it would underperform.

TIHWD definitely had more detractors here, especially among her fanbase. It's also why they are wanting so badly for it to peak now, because they want to be right more than they want Katy to be successful.

Her team this era is absolutely dumb (not even talking about quality control here). Like, even little monsters knew DH was a monster smash from the very beginning, how can you overlook a song like this one? Plus, our good friend goldsoundz already told us that she was convinced by someone to give TIHWD a chance so not really.

I can pull my receipts in the Prism thread, but I don't know where the hell that thread is now. I'm pretty sure you can bookmark me once LL will be released! Because I'm just too confident it will smash no matter what!

I'm pretty sure she released Dark Horse and Walking On Air as promotional songs just because she wasn't planning to release them later. Imagine if Dark Horse didn't have the unexpected success it had, she would ignore it. I can't really imagine this era without DH as a single.
She needs to get ha sh** together and release Legendary Lovers as the last single.

Obviously none of them expected it. That joke of a video sums it up perfectly. But she's an artist, she worked on those songs so she can be delusional from time to time. They, not so much.

I didn't think Birthday would do well, but I did think TIHWD would've done better

Birthday and TIHWD were just wrong move from the label, an anomaly of her perfect streak of singles! The first time I listened to Prism, I knew these two songs will never make it big and both times they were released I was hoping I'm wrong. They're too generic, trashy, and forgettable, no novelty value and I'm not surprised the GP did not like both!
Now it's Legendary Lovers or just don't release anything else! WoA will be snubbed undeservedly, as well as Double Rainbow, Ghost, Choose Your Battles and It Takes Two! Prism has so many good songs to choose from, and the label choose to release these generic tracks! SMH Now her chances of winning Grammy's are even smaller!
Just let this single die, it's not going to be a sleeper hit, at lease we got a good video and we reach 700 pages

I was a staunch advocate of "Birthday" (sorry), but at the time, I was also very vocal about "This Is How We Do" being a flop. I haven't followed the history here, but, from what I can gather, not many people wanted it as a single; those who did were just extremely vocal about it.
And for anyone worried about Grammys, are you serious? For the first time, I'm confident she'll take home at least one thanks to "Dark Horse."

90% of her own fans hated the song until the music video release, just look at the first pages [inclunding me of course]. I think this is happening with radio stations and djs. They're just having their "first" contact with the song and they're hating on it.

"Walking On Air" was supposed to be the third single and "Birthday" fourth. "Dark Horse" was far down the list--"Legendary Lovers" was made last minute because they wanted a "safer" "Dark Horse."
