Honestly, I'm not surprised at them banning maths and social studies. So much logic is required in those subjects, and they can't be having any of that. If they raise children to think logically, they'll have no soldiers. They want to brainwash them with their own views, and nothing else.

ISIS / Islamic State / ISIL is a terrorist organization that took advantage of the war in Syria to gain control over much of Syria and Iraq, where they have instated strict Shariah Law and jihad. They have been executing non-Sunni Muslims with brutality and ruthlessness (they have posted videos of them killing thousands of Iraqi soldiers). Also notably, they have released videos of them executing 2 US journalists and 1 British aid worker. They executioner in the video is a British person. Many people from Western countries such as the US, UK, Germany, Sweden, etc. have travelled to Syria to get training in jihad (ISIS' social media grasp is very powerful), and that's why many Western countries are worried -- its own citizens are plotting terrorist attacks, which makes it much harder to stop as opposed to foreign terrorists.

I would recommend opening a newspaper or an online newspaper even every once in a while
